What to bring to your first class

No special gear required — here's everything you need for day one.

Comfortable clothesA t-shirt and shorts or athletic wear. We'll lend you a gi for your trial.
A water bottleStay hydrated — there's a short break partway through every class.
Arrive 15 minutes earlyTime to meet a coach, sign in and get settled before you start.
Bare feet on the matWe train barefoot; flip-flops are handy for walking off the mat.
Clean, trimmed nailsA small courtesy that keeps everyone safe while training.
An open mindNo experience needed — just bring your curiosity. We'll do the rest.

None at all. Most people start having never trained. Your trial begins in a beginner-friendly, fundamentals-focused class.

No — we can lend you a gi for your trial. Comfortable athletic clothing is perfectly fine for your first classes.

Yes. Choose Kids above and sign up as the parent or guardian — we'll arrange an age-appropriate class for ages 6–13. (Our Lil Tots class for ages 4–5 is now running in Maple Ridge and launches in Langley in September 2026 — ask us to join the interest list.)
