First, children socialize so they feel at ease and a part of the group. They will focus on mat awareness, learn and develop balance, coordination, agility, respect, discipline, sportsmanship, the rules, and basic techniques. Next, kids will start light training to become familiar with the physical contact of a partner and gradually start to train with bigger partners to gain confidence.
BJJ is much more than just self-defense. When your child trains in our Langley program, you’ll be giving them an extra advantage in life. Learning authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will bring out the best in your child.
Starting with self-respect, our program empowers your child with crucial life skills and knowledge to help them be better at home and in school. Our classes are balanced with the right amount of fun and discipline to make sure they not only stay focused, but want to come back again and again.
As the children continue their training, there are some common and natural side effects. They will develop exceptional self-control, which helps them to handle their emotions more effectively. Their self-confidence grows as they feel more safe and secure in their ability to defend themselves if attacked.
Control and confidence will develop an inner calmness should a chaotic or scary situation arise. They will think faster and respond with more rational actions. As their peers notice these character traits, they will look up to your child as a positive role model.
We like to say that our Langley BJJ program will help your child to be a “Champion In Life!”. Your child will experience new character building lessons every month and the instructors will also look for how these traits are demonstrated in our school.
